Make-up, eyebrow color, lipstick & Co. – a well-made face not only requires a steady hand, but also a well-filled wallet, because high-quality, decorative cosmetics come at a price.
However, are you a saver and still want to look great? Then we have the solution for you, because cosmetics can be easily made from conventional foods yourself. Whether lip care, lip gloss, lipstick, make-up or eyebrow color – here you will find the right ingredients and preparation options for your self-made cosmetics.
1. Lip gloss made from chewing gum
For this you need:
- 2 teaspoons of chewing gum, different types
- 1 teaspoon of petroleum jelly
- red food coloring
- small jar with screw cap
- Lip brush for application
That is how it goes:
Put the gum, petroleum jelly, and food coloring in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for a minute. Then stir the hot ingredients until a homogeneous mass has formed. Finally, fill the still liquid lip gloss into a resealable jar and let it cool down – then you can give your lips a very special shine with your self-made lip gloss made from chewing gum.
2. Aromatic lip balm
For this you need:
- 1 pinch of sugar
- some melted shea butter
- approx. 1 teaspoon lemonade, e.g. Coca-Cola, Fanta or Sprite
- candle
- Container for lip care product
That is how it goes:
Add sugar, shea butter and lemonade to a tablespoon and heat the whole thing over a candle. Then pour the mixture into a container for lip care products, close it and freeze it – then you can pamper your lips with aromatic lip balm.
Tip: Do not add too much liquid lip balm to the container, as the mass will expand when it freezes.
3. Natural eyebrow color
For this you need:
- Almonds
- Lighter
- Eyebrow brush
That is how it goes:
Burn the tip of an almond until it’s black. Now pick up the soot with an eyebrow brush and use it to draw your eyebrows – the natural result will inspire you.
4. Natural makeup
For this you need:
- 1 teaspoon peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon flour
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- Beauty blender
That is how it goes:
Combine peanut butter with flour and olive oil; vary the amount of peanut butter to suit your complexion. Then apply the self-made make-up with a beauty blender and enjoy an even, natural complexion.
5. Galaxy lipstick
For this you need:
- 1.5 teaspoons of coconut oil
- 3 pollutant-free wax crayons
- Rubber animals
- Glitter
- Lipstick container
That is how it goes:
Divide coconut oil, crayons, rubber animals and glitter into three small bowls and melt the ingredients in a water bath. While doing this, stir them occasionally.
Then take turns pouring the melted ingredients into a lipstick container and waiting for them to harden. Now you can put your lips in scene with an extraordinary lipstick.
Do you have doubts about one or the other mixture? Then just try it out with a few friends at the next girls’ evening. Because making cosmetics from food is really fun – and who knows, maybe you will even enjoy your homemade products.
