3 sweet recipes with puff pastry

Puff pastry is an absolute miracle weapon in the baking sector, because regardless of whether it is hearty or sweet: the crumbly dough tastes terrific. The following three recipes will show you how to make deliciously sweet puff pastry that looks pretty too.

1.) Pig ears

For this you need:

  • 1 finished puff pastry
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 5 g cinnamon

That is how it goes:

1.1 Mix the sugar with the cinnamon. Spread half of it on the work surface, then place the puff pastry on top and sprinkle with the rest of the sugar and cinnamon mixture.

1.2) Now roll out the puff pastry a little more with the rolling pin so that the sugar-cinnamon mixture is properly pressed into the dough mass.

1.3) Roll the puff pastry from both sides up to the middle and then put it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

1.4 Cut the rolled puff pastry into slices about 0.5 cm thick.

1.5) Now place the pig ears with enough space on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake them for 12 minutes at 200 ° C fan oven.

2.) Stuffed mussels

For this you need (for 3 pieces):

  • 1 large clam
  • 1 finished puff pastry
  • 3 white balls “Lindt LINDOR”
  • 1 beaten egg
  • powdered sugar

That is how it goes:

2.1) Place the clam on the puff pastry and cut it out with a knife a little bit away from the edge.

2.2) Then turn the mussel with the puff pastry, press the dough into the mussel and put the whole thing in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

2.3 Coat the edges of the shell with beaten egg.

2.4) Place a chocolate ball on the puff pastry and cover it with the shell.

2.5) Gently press the clam onto the puff pastry and cut it out with a knife.

2.6) Then carefully remove the filled mussel and brush it with whisked egg. Prepare the other two mussels in the same way before baking them all at 180 ° C for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Tip: For an even nicer result, you can carefully trim the grain of the clams with a knife.

2.7) Sprinkle the mussels with some powdered sugar before the melt-in-the-mouth chocolate core lets you float into other spheres while you eat.

3.) Donuts

For this you need (for 6 pieces):

  • 3 pieces of finished puff pastry
  • 2 cookie cutters (diameter: 10 cm and 3 cm)
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • melted chocolate (dark and white)
  • colorful sprinkles
  • Chopped nuts
  • Sugar decoration at will

That is how it goes:

3.1) Brush the first puff pastry with a little water, then put the second over it and brush this with a little water as well. Then cover this with the third puff pastry.

3.2) Now cut donuts out of the puff pastry with the help of the cutters and freeze them for 10 minutes before deep-frying them until golden.

3.3 Finally, decorate the puff pastry donuts with melted chocolate, sprinkles, nuts and sugar decorations.

Whether donuts, mussels or pork ears – these three recipes are proof that puff pastry can taste deliciously sweet and look chic.
