Finding the right look can be time-consuming and expensive. But being adventurous with your lip stick style or finding the right concealer doesn’t have to be a chore, and it definitely doesn’t have to empty your wallet. We’ve found some great ways to create original, fun cosmetics right at home. Using everyday foods and household goods, you can treat yourself to a whole new collection of lip products, concealer, and eyebrow tint. Find the ideas that work for you and let yourself shine!
1. Lip Tint Made Out Of Bubble Gum
You’ll Need:
- 2 tsp bubble gum
- 1 tsp Vaseline
- food coloring
- small jar with a screw-on lid
- lip brush (for application)
Here’s How:
Put the bubble gum, Vaseline, and food coloring into a microwave-safe bowl and heat in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir the hot ingredients together until they form into a single, cohesive whole. Pour the liquid lip tint mixture into a resealable jar and let it cool down with the lid off. Now you can give your lips a special shine with your very own bubble gum lip tint.
2. Scented Lip Balm
You’ll Need:
- pinch of sugar
- melted shea butter
- approx. 1 tsp soda (e.g. Coca-Cola, Mountain Dew, or Sprite)
- candle
- lip balm containers
Here’s How:
Put the sugar, shea butter, and soda on a spoon and heat everything over a candle. Pour the mixture into a lip balm container, seal it, and freeze it. You’ll be able to pamper your lips in no time!
Tip: Don’t fill the container with too much of the liquid lip balm since it will expand when it freezes.
3. Natural Eyebrow ‘Pencil’
You’ll Need:
- almonds
- lighter
- eyebrow brush
Here’s How:
Burn the tip of an almond until it’s black. Rub the eyebrow brush on the dark residue left from burning the and use it to tint your eyebrows. This natural beauty tip is even easier than using an actual eyebrow pencil!
4. Natural Concealer
You’ll Need:
- 1 tsp peanut butter
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 tsp olive oil
- makeup sponge
Here’s How:
Mix the peanut butter, flour, and olive oil together (be sure to adjust the amount of peanut butter to match your complexion). Next, apply your homemade concealer with a makeup sponge and enjoy an even, natural complexion.
5. Galaxy Lipstick
You’ll Need:
- 1½ tsp coconut oil
- 3 non-toxic face crayons
- gummies
- glitter
- empty lipstick tube
Here’s How:
Divide the coconut oil, face crayons, gummies, and glitter equally into three small bowls. Create a water bath by placing a large pan filled with a shallow layer of water on the stove on low heat until hot or simmering. Place the small bowls in the water bath and melt the ingredients, stirring occasionally. Alternate pouring melted ingredients into a lipstick tube and waiting for the layers to harden. Now you can put your lips into orbit with an out of this world lipstick design.
