Make your own popsicle: delicious Twix ice cream

One of the biggest scandals in the candy world was the renaming of Raider to Twix in the 1990s. Perhaps some of you still remember the claim “Raider is now called Twix. Otherwise nothing changes ”. The name doesn’t really matter to us gourmets, we are mainly interested in what can be conjured up with the chocolate bar. Like this incredibly delicious Twix popsicle, for example.

For this you need:

  • 5 Twix bars
  • 100 g vanilla ice cream
  • 150 g of cream
  • 5 popsicle sticks

For the couverture:

  • 210 g chocolate
  • 120 g caramel

That is how it goes:

1.) Hit the wrapped Twix bars with a hammer until they are broken into large pieces. Alternatively, you can press the bars against the edge of a table and use your hands to help them chop them up.

2.) Open the paper on one side and place the broken bar in the packaging upright in a glass.

3.) Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in an ice cream cone and cut off the pointed end of the waffle with scissors. Hold the waffle over the glass with the Twix.

4.) Now pour hot cream over the vanilla ice cream so that it can flow together with the cream through the small hole in the waffle tip into the package with the Twix pieces.

5.) Put an ice cream stick in the middle of the packaging and put the glass with its contents in the freezer for at least two hours.

6.) Now the couverture has to be prepared. To do this, hold a bar of chocolate (whole milk or dark chocolate, depending on your taste) under running hot water until it has melted. Pour the melted chocolate into a glass and stir until you get a smooth and pliable couverture.

7.) Take the frozen Twix ice cream out of the packaging and dip it into the chocolate in the glass. Place the popsicle on a baking sheet or plate with baking paper and decorate it with a caramel or dark chocolate sauce.

Just think of the countless possibilities that there are on the chocolate bar market. Try a different variant with a different bar. There are no limits to your creativity. Have fun trying it out!

And if the Twix on a stick isn’t enough for you, why not try the giant Twix from the bonus video. You can find the recipe here.
